4.6 to 5.4 swap questions
What all needs to be changed if I wanted to drop a 5.4 in a 1998 F-150? I'm assuming its basically the same block (though that's just a guess) so the motor mounts should be fine, and the 5 speed tranny should still mount up okay, right? Is there anything else I'm overlooking?
Where might a guy find one of these motors? I've been doing searches for wrecked lightnings in my area (Phoenix) that are being parted out, but haven't come across any yet.

Your fuel curve will have to be modofied to accomodate the extra displacement.
The exhaust manifolds will not line up with the exhaust pipes. To be safe use the motor mounts from the 5.4. The 5.4 doesn't have a flywheel it uses a flex so you will have to use your flywheel. If your flywheel has 6 bolts, Romeo engine, you will have to get a fly wheel from a Windsor 4.6. Check the 8th digit on your VIN W= Romeo and 6 = Windsor build 4.6. If I think of more I will post.
