the white monkey, I only had my waterpump replaced ONCE. I had the tstat replaced numerous times.

The problem im having is similar to yours. Coolant sprays out cap, all over my nice blue filter, fuse box and anything around there. Then it will drip down all over the body mount and frame. And if im driving it will cover the inner fender and side of truck.

Replacing the water pump i think solved it. Not positive. But my engine does warm up alot faster now. Its supposed to be the new and improved waterpump.

Where is plug #6? And what do you mean by fouling?

No. 6 is the second in from the front on the driver's side.

Fouled, wet from coolant, burned up, ruined.

Not all that hard to get to. I've been changing
them out and hoping to burn through the crap in there.

Which is almost working, but not quite.

Didn't realize coolant was leaking for many miles.

Ford invoices are notorious for being vague.
But did your repair order list the part no. for
the water pump or do you know what the part no. is?

Since there's a TSB on the heads: (Thx, Labnerd)
98B33 under general recalls, issue date Apr 99,
Campaign variety TSB, whatever that means -
scope being coolant/cylinder head replacement.

I think I'll get on the week long waiting list for line service
at the dealer.... Maybe they'll be slow next week...

Thanks, I'll post to "Oil Foam" post I opened with some results.

Maybe It'll just be the water pump for me too...

re: the TSB (Technical Service Buletin)

I think that's what it means...

anyways, I'll let you know if I end up getting something
for nothing. Mine might be the water pump too...

I'm still spilling out coolant...

I will be taking it in to a second dealer, first thing in the a.m.

what did the TSB say?

Your taking it to a second dealer? What happened at the first one?

Also i've noticed that it only does it when its cold out. The last week its been warm and nothing has happened. Today it dropped into the 30's and it kindasorta did it. The temp never dropped, but it wasn't really warming up. I lost heat for about 5 seconds. Had to rev the engine to warm it up.

The TSB says little, just mentions coolant/head replacement...
and that it's a campaign... User initiated.
Chances are poor if you are out of warrantee but not
impossible. The work around is to politely, keep
going up the line until you get satisfaction.

The first dealer I went to seems like they have to do
something 3 times to even start to figure it out.

Last time I took it in they called me and said it was a misfire again, suggest changing the plug and wire.
I asked them for the codes and a printout and they said
Our line dept. is backed up for a week. We just had a tech
look at it.

I'm like, "What the %^*&!" So needless to say,
that diagnosis was free...

I need to get it on a Ford analyzer ASAP.

I think my pregnant wife is going to kill me over here.
My trucks been out of commission for three weeks now.

I recall reading over a Ford F150 service manual and there was a short rubber hose connecting steel lines between the water pump and the heater and the rubber hose is located under the intake manifold, which got my attention-what a dumb thing to do and the worse place to do it.

My Point: A small leak, after some time the collant level drops to the point you have no heater, the guage slowly climbs, presure builds and then "blow out". Small leaks go undetected. Suggest check collant level very frequently. The leak could be anywhere-head, block, hose clamps, rad., and the inital flush could have produced it.
Small leaks also slow down during winter.

Well i replaced the pressure cap and it seems to be working very well. I went to autozone and what would you know. They carry replacements that ford says are not available. So far so good.
