??IAC valve install question??
??IAC valve install question??
Hello,
I bought new IAC valve for the truck at NAPA store for roughly $61 and I am going to install it tomorrow. The reason been I have to step on gas to start the truck on cold morning (below 15 already). The threshold temperature is rising slowly – a month ago it was around 5 so I figured I'd better install it now then I could not start it at all.
There is a vacuum line connected to the valve. I found a spot on the IAC but it looks like it's covered, there is no open hole so to speak (direct inlet) on the IAC.
The promised question is… Do I need to remove anything on the inlet or I am fine connecting to what I have?
Any insight will be appreciated.
Alex.

If you have an IAC for a 97+ F-150 you will not have to worry about any Vacuum lines. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the two bolts holding it in place. Be careful/gentel with the gasket.
You did not mention that you bought a new one. Lift off the IAC and remove the gasket if it is stuck to the IAC. Install in reverse order.

SUPER! Thanks a lot!
One more thing though... When I was referencing to vacuum line... Manual says "disconnect throttle bypass hose"
I was asking about this one... Do I need to worry about it at all?
Is this one connected to IAC?
Thanks again,
Alex.

follow up
Thanks again for the help, guys!
That was easy 5 min swap, no vacuum nose to disconnect, just disconnect battery, 3 bolts to remove engine cover, 2 bolts to swap the IAC. And today at 4F the truck starts like new
The old IAC has some build-up, I would not say heavy but definitely doesn't shine inside
I will wash it up with brake cleaner when it'll be warm outside.
