Cams

I own a 1985 F-150 with a Fuel injected 302. The sytem uses speed density to monitor the intake volume and adjust to changes. This is the root of my problem. I am anticipating replacing the cam with about a 272 advertised duration and .484 in. of gross valve lift. I've been told that using a cam other than the computer compatible ones would make the engine idle awkwardly due to manifold vacuum irregularities. What kind of cam can I put in safely without causing engine problems? This system uses a Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor, O2 sensor, knock sensor, and others to monitor intake.
