What is this part?
Will it cause idle problems? Here's what my truck is doing. When I first start it up, it idles rough. Then, after 10 seconds or so the fast idle kicks in, engine runs smooth, but too fast. (2000 rpm) When the fast idle kicks in, my check engine light comes on. I never had this problem, until after this engine swap. I took my time with the project to make sure I put everything back exactly as it was before. (bone stock) I'm hoping to stop and get a code pulled tomorrow, but any input would be helpful.
Oh yea that can cause idle problems.
You have un mettered air in the system, or it is a case of the vac is thrown off, and the system is trying to compensate for it, and it all confused.
That is actually something to check for quite a few DTCs.
If you can get it scaned to get the code that is set, myself or another member can tell you for sure if your CEL is from that.

Sounds like you may have two problems.
First is a vacuum leak, usually where the upper intake meets the lower intake. With the engine running, spray some carb cleaner around the intake and listen for an rpm change. This will pinpoint where the leak is.
Second, the throttle position sensor (TPS) is shorted.
I would have codes pulled to determine the root cause of your concern.

HO,
This basic mechanics;
Start by replacing the broken part. Clear the codes and start over. It is a waste of time to complain about a poor idle when you have an obvious problem.

JM,
Understood that this is basic stuff. I was able to glue the vacuum tube that I broke off of this part. I was thinking 2 things. 1. Did some of the glue sepe into the part rendering it inoperable? That was why I was asking if "this" part would cause my described symptoms.
2. Before, I go into the Parts store and ask for a replacement part, it would help to know what its' name is. Also, when I do run a code check, I'll know if it is the part I broke the vacuum line off of by name.
Thanks for the reply, no thanks in the future. I have found that there are plenty of other guys on this board who are willing to help without the attitude.

HO,
Sorry that you see it as attitude. It was not intended. My assumption was wrong in thinking that you had no clue as to what you were doing. You were told what the part was before I posted. You did not mention that you glued the parts back together. But even if you did, you still have to clear the codes and start back at square one. It is difficult to offer advice when the whole story is not told.
In closing please consider yourself removed from my list of advice seekers.
I hope you solve your problem.
