Hey,

Lately my 99' F150 XLT V6 has been making a whining noise in drive and reverse. Anyone else experience this??? Doesn't do it in park, though. Kinda think it maybe the cold weather we are having in Socal recently(although it ain't really that cold compare to the rest of the nation).

Had my truck since new and this problem came up last year for a short period and went away around the same time. Thought it was the belts, but took it too the dealer and they didn't find anything. This time it the noise seems alot more frequent and persistent. Had the hood up and the truck in drive and sounded like the "whine" was coming from the alternator? Don't know what on earth it could be...

Anyone with any suggestions, tips and similiar experiences would be of great help!
