Post code po401 need help

hey guys i keeping getting this code but my truck runs perfect. idles fine, starts fine, runs great. i know this code is relevant to egr system. i have had the dpfe sensor replaced once and it did the same thing, ran perfect but throws a code p0401. the sensor was replaced only 25,000 miles ago. could there be another problem. is the dpfe sensor bad again. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED AND THANKS IN ADVANCE btw i have a 97 f150 4.6 4x4 sc thanks again

hey does anyone have any ideas on this that check engine light is driving me nuts, thanks

I had the same thing on my 97. you have to take off your throttle body elbow. inside that elbow, there is two ports that are probably clogged. you might want to get a new gasket before hand. after I cleaned those two ports, I could fit a fairly large screwdriver in them. I didn't even reset my computer and the light went off by itself the next day or two. If you do a search, this topic has been covered many times, that is how I figured out how to fix it. Hope that helps.

The clogged EGR ports is somewhat common, but depends on the size engine, as the 5.4s don't get is any where as often.

Could be the DPFE sensors, or a few other things ( cracked VAC lines ) but the first URL above has the site search for code P0401.
