Thumbs up

Oh! That red vacuum line? I tried doing a search on it, but no dice. I remember seeing a thread where those lines were melting on the EGR tubes. It caused some sort of problem with idle if I remember correctly. You could try replacing it with a complete factory piece? It might not be holding the vacuum as well as the hard plastic line would?? It goes from the EGR valve to a plug near the firewall I believe. Worth looking at?,,,,98

That's the line alright. I think that's exactly what happened. It got pushed too close to the egr and melted. Who know how long it was like that. Both ends were melted completely shut. I wouldn't have noticed it unless I was really looking. Do you really think I can get that one vacuum line from ford?

I'm certain you can! Like a member of this board told me once. They can get ANYTHING on the truck. If they can't, they are too lazy to look it up. He works at a Ford plant, so he would know,,,,98

I'm not too sure, but I think I saw hard vacuum line like that at an auto parts store. Might try there too if the dealer guys blow you off.,,,98
