I got 105,000 on my F-250 LD (4.6 ), good running mill. I am a firm believer in regular maintenance, and if you properly maintanin a vehicle, it should last a good long while. As far as how many miles is a vehicle good for, well there is as many answers to this as there are vehicle owners. Myself, I believe 200K in not unreasonable with the proper maintenace. I know a few that believe once it hits 80K, its time to trade- no longer reliable, I say fooey!
Maintenance, is the key.

I know this is a little off subject, but I didn't know where to list it. Since we're talking about how good our trucks are, folks seeking info should note theirs (imports) doesn't go without flaw.

To all the rice lover's, you have your problems toooo........

I know I was worried as my '98 4x4 Off-Road with it's 4.6 is pushing 100k. Talked to the Ford guys about whether I'd need to replace the engine soon or should just get a new truck. They told me that, with proper maintainence, at 100k, it's still a baby (This coming from a SALESMAN, who'd I'd expect to say anything to sell me a new truck). It still runs like a champ, no piston slap. The only non-oil/filter change or tranny-flush maintainence done on it was replacing a dead battery and tires/brakes. Let's hope it keeps going anothe 1 or 200k!

BTW, oil changes are done religiously, K&N air filter is cleaned religiously and tranny flush is done religiously. Was under it this weekend inspecting all around underneath. Not a spot of rust or even a hint of things going bad. This is living near the ocean, and the truck spends about as much time off-road as on.

Can't say enough good about it.

I have a 94 F250 4X4 with a 351 in it.. I have
176,000 miles on it and it still runs great.
I do have several problems, the front gas gage
is out, and the clutch fluild leaks out somewhere
after about 2 weeks, I put a bit back in and
off and going. I have done minor maint , plugs,
starter, wires, and a few other things.
