Lightning Mass Air Meter

Just curious if any of you have added this upgrade to your 5.4?
I have heard that alot of Mustang guys are using this mas air meter to gain more power as it will trick the computer in reading a different volt amout than is actually there to add more fuel!!!!
Let me know if any of you have done this mod and what gains your have seen and where you purchased this mod?-

Cool

HI!... 1ST off you will need a custom programmed chip (SUPERCHIP) to run a LIGHTNING's 90mm MAF. The "L's" MAF is calibrated for 42LB injectors. The 5.4 has 19LB injectors. If you just bolt up the 90mm MAF without getting a tune you will scew up your AIR/FUEL ratio's "BIGTIME"!!!!!!! Anyone that says they just bolt it on and go, is quite frankly a major FOOL! I have a 90mm MAF for my 5.4 and it still does'nt make as much power as with my stock 80mm MAF. I have to get to a dyno and have a 'TUNE" done to get it set up right for my AIR/FUEL ratio's.

I did this but like Neal said, it isn't as simple as just bolting a new MAF on. I had to upgrade the injectors, fuel pump (255 l.p.h.) to support the injectors and have the SuperChip calibrated for these changes. All this for maybe 12 horses or so. I wouldn't suggest you do this unless you've run out of some of the other mods (i.e. electric fans, underdrive pulleys, headers etc.). If you are to that point with your mods then by all means go for it.

I bought the Ford Injectors and MAF. I purchased them through Mike Troyer. You may find them a little cheaper but you won't have the other benefits that Mike brings to the table and I checked, you won't save that much. He also sold me the fuel pump though I don't remember the brand now. Of course he can handle the reburn of your SuperChip. I would recommend calling him when your ready.

Neal,

Plasma Ignition is on my list this month also. We've got quite a few of the same mods though I've got the shorty JBA's and not LT's. Mine won't go as fast. I'm pulling a few more pounds with the 4X4.

I hope Mike doesn't mind me posting his information for him. This is the info he puts in his signature. He sells SuperChip and I think he works directly with them to develop some of his custom burns. Don't hold me to this as I'm not 100%.
