Amsoil switch

When is a good time to change from dino to Amsoil/Syn engine oil? I heard you should break in the engine before going to synthetics? Is that true? I have a 2002 5.4 auto with about 10,500 mi on it now. Will syn oil spin out the bearings or loosen seals?

i changed to amsoil at the first 5M oil change with no problems whatsoever. there is nothing to worry about. no need to flush. my truck runs great, uses ZERO oil. i believe that i got an additional .5 mpg with amsoil; but it could be that the truck was getting broken-in too . . .

You should not have any problems with your switch. I have switched about 20 cars over and have heard nothing but good things from them. You shouldn'tneed to flush the engine before the switch because of your milage. If you had 50-70K(or less)then you should flush. Just drain, change filter, refill, and enjoy the benifits. Don't forget to use the Amsoil filter. If you are planning on keeping the truck for a long time you should consider the By-Pass Filter Kit. It is supposed to virtually elliminate engine wear. GOOD stuff.
Good Luck.

Happy Holidays,
Mike
