What else should I have replaced by now?
I have a 99 4.6 2wd, with 67000 miles on it, I have replaced the battery, spark plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, air filter, but i keep reading about other things that arent thought of much that need to be replaced but there is little attention paid to them. What else should I replace?
The two biggies:
-Tranny Fluid
-Antifreeze
The PCV valve should also be replaced.
Diff fluid also wouldn't hurt.
I wouldn't worry about the O2 sensors unless you either: a. Need every ounce of power availble or b. Are having symptoms of one going bad (or a thrown code). I've never replaced an 02 sensor unless it was shot, and it was noticable when it happened (either a thrown code or terrible gas mileage). Others here have argued that they need to be replaced on a frequent basis, but it never shows up on the maintinence schedules. Go Figure...
As far as the hoses go, so long as you inspect regularly, no worries. Same goes for power steering fluid.
Brake fluid wouldn't hurt.
My 1st set of front brakes on the '97 went 60,000 miles. The rotors were not turned or replaced. 2nd set went 65,000 miles. Replaced the rotors (due to salt pitting). Drums are still OEM with
just under half the pads left.
My '99 went 70,000 miles on the OEM pads, front and rear.
Since you have a 2wd, you should check and repack the front wheel bearings. Since your brakes have 70k on them, when you do the brakes is probably a good time.

I just did my front disk pads with 45k on the truck. The oem pads still had a good amount of pad life left on them but for $50 for performance friction lifetime pads from autozone I figured I'd just get 'em done and over with.
