Most stocker heads can have a fair amount of power eeked out of them.

No substitute for a good set of aftermarket heads though. About the only stock heads I am aware of that are designed to their limit are Vortec heads.

The biggest problem IMHO is finding someone that can really do it RIGHT and actually increase your flow, its very easy to do a poor job and even DECREASE flow. Definitely needs a flowbench to do it right, and I'm not sure I'd be the guy for whom he experiments on.

You can pretty much improve everything on a stock block.

You are often better off buying aftermarket though, as the cost to have all that work done to your stock heads is almost as much as a nice set of aftermarket heads.

Depends on what engine you have. I am currently having my 5.4 heads ported & polished. As far as I have been able to determine, no one makes an aftermarket head for this engine.

Hey! what if you have NON-PI (performance improved) heads on you 99' F-150 and you want to swap to late model F-150 4.6 PI heads. Should it be an easy bolt on install Should I see an increase in horsepower and torque
