5.4 in an Explorer

If some crazy dude wanted to stuff a 5.4 (or a hot 4.6) in a 92 explorer...how crazy would he have to be? Would it even fit..it looks like the mod motors are really wide? Would the transmission need to be swapped too? I dont care about the a/c system..it hasn't worked in years anyway. I know a guy to make headers so that's not too bad. Thanks in advance.

I've see pics of the supercharged Lightning 5.4 in a reg cab Ranger. I would figure it would be possible, but I don't know how easy.

They didn't offer a V8 in the '92 Explorer, did they? I would guess that if all they had was a 3.0 or 4.0 that there would be a lot of work to make the 5.4 work.
