i need more power!
No problem...
I do agree that everybody in the industry is a salesman, but Derek is a top notch type of person. He has already established his reputation. He doesn't need to Lie.

I didn't say he was lying, what I said is that he didn't bother to post all the details about that 13.9 sec. run. See, he said he did it with the blower and a chip. But what I doubt he bothered mentioning was that along with the Large mods, he had a few minor ones as well. Like for one; check out the picture of the supercrew and you can see he has an after market exhaust system. Also I'm sure he has a good intake system (if it's not included with the blower already), and he probably made that run with slicks. See he never has to lie to make you think he got that time with only a blower and chip. All he has to do is only mention the major mods that are on the truck. Obviously it's going to take a lot more to get a truck that weighs 1000lbs. more to run close to what a stock Lightning runs. Also don't forget he has a stock 5.4L, not the 5.4 that is in the L. That means he has to find even more power because the L has a few special parts in it's 5.4(aluminum heads, etc., I know you know
)
)
I also know that you know that all 5.4, 4.6, and 4.2's have aluminum heads.
yes, the procharger had it's own intake with it.
And I have the video of him running a 13.9 in that SCREW. NO slicks. He does have 01 Lightning rims with Eagle F1's. But NO SLICKS.
I also noticed his exhuaust. but those are basic mods to say the least.

Yeah basic mods, but that is making the supercrew further from being stock. So you would agree with me that it took a good amount more to get that SC up to L standards right Talley? I mean if you throw a chip, exhaust, and intake on a L you will get it in the low 13's easy. Some may even see 12's, but that is rare, it usually takes a pulley along with those mods........ Really, I thought the standard heads (not Lightning's) were steel? I thought only the SVT's and Ford's other special model vehicles have the aluminum heads? You sure about that one?
Yes I am sure... and one more thing. his chip was anything but optimal for sure. One thing you have to realize is the Lighting has a very optimal tune factory with the available fuel upgrades. He is making that much power with injectors that are only good for up to ~ 320hp. He still has much tuning to do and can pick up to .5 tuning with the fuel upgrades.
one thing you need to realize... this is NEEDED for the supercharger. You will run out of fuel above 4,700rpm if you don't have upgrade like this... not to mention you DO NOT want to bolt on a supercharger without some sort of chip to keep your a/f ratio stable... and to keep you from really screwing things up.
With him properly tuned he will be ~ 13.5.
Why can't you understand that this is good for a relatively stock SCREW?
I do not agree with you for a further from stock screw. He has little mods with the Procharger... chip being one that is needed. the intake is part of the supercharger... you can't use the stock intake on it so that is really the best you can do. and exhaust... one of which can be minimum at best.
I know alot of supercharger kits include a chip. one of them being the autonet 4.2 kit which includes a intake and chip which makes your results actually lower with the blower than what you get. I understand where your coming from.

O.K. Talley relax, I think you may be taking my posts the wrong way. I do understand that is good for a close to stock supercrew. Actually I think it is GREAT!!! I was just trying to make the point with the power/weight ratio. I was just saying it will take more for a heavier truck w/the same engine to run the same times as a L. And I know it will run like **** w/out the right air/fuel ratio. I understand and already know the info. you were trying to get across to me. Sorry if I pissed you off by not coming right out from the beginng and saying: Wow, that is a great time for a Supercrew!
His mods match right up with the dyno #'s he produced. 350HP and 408ft/lb torque, is right at what most L's make with a chip. Just what surprised me so much, and what I think started the whole discussion, is that VERY VERY good time he got out of it. I was just thinking that would be very difficult to get that extra 1000lbs. close to a L's time with only about 25 more rwHP. Now do you see where I was coming from? I got to say that is 1 hell of a good time. Although now that I think of it, that was his best time and he did mention it ran mostly 14's. I guess I just wanted to get a good conversation going with you.
And usually the only way to get a good one going is to try and start a disagreement.
You know that I love talking about the L, I guess it kind of showed here. lol.

hmm......
interesting.
i never thought about that.
for some reason i was under an impression that a 4x4 will give you a better performance but i should have known that SVT will use the optimum specs (my bad).
however if i get a 4x2 (save me money any ways) and just deal with the fact that the weight difference will be only the extra cab can i get to the vicinity of an L (this way i avoigs missspelling it)
i posted the following in another forum but here goes.
i am planning on the following:
Superchip
AIRFORCE ONE Air Intakes
Denso IT16 Spark plugs
K&N Air Filter
MagnaFlow Exhaust (with a dual pipe) <- Neal's recommendation
and after reading some past posts i noticed that changing Writes is good thing to.
however a supercharges is definitely out of my budget for now....
i have also read that changing the heads is a good idea but i am not quite sure why (any help on this will also be appreciated).
thanks in advance with all your posts!

With the 13.9 run I had the following mods
ati 9psi
fmu 19# injectors
chip custom tune
b&e tranny kit set at stage 4B
Gibson cat bat dual side swept exhaust
170 degree thermostat
"L" rims and good year f1's at 36 psi
the only real performance enhancer is the blower
the exhaust adds about 8-10 hp
the tranny kit keeps me from killing the tranny (might help by .o1)
thermostat helps a little (few HP)
Chip with custom tune (priceless- this is where we are making progress)
L rims and tires (just look cool)
I will be in mid to low 13's by FFW (fuel mods and 12psi)
