Just ordered my MAC

Damn you Talleywacker, you just had to give me the poorboy intake so now I have to upgrade I should have it in 3 days or so since they're in San Antonio and I'm in College Station.

Has anyone coated the inside of their tube in order to make sure that rust doesn't accumulate and head into the engine? If so, what'd you use?

Rusting intake tubing? Maybe you should have tryed Volant, their tubing isn't metal and it is a larger diameter than most intake systems on the market for the 4.2. I have it and it's been great, this is the first time I've ever heard of rust being a possibility in intake tubing. What kind of metal do the MAC intake systems use? I doubt rust will be a problem for you. The smooth surface inside the tubing isn't really a ideal place for rust to form.

I'm not even sure it does rust. Just preventative measures my friend.

I doubt you have to worry, you'll probally just create a problem by coating the inside with something. But hey it's up too you, I was just saying I've never heard of such a thing happening. Talleywacker might be able to give you some good pointers since he has the same intake.

Yes... me and charles actually met up over the weekend. He fell in love with the Mac intake!!!!

hehe... I love spending other peoples money.

Mine had a little bit of rust... sunday I sanded it all out and put a sealer over the inside... hopefully everything checks out ok.

As far as materials, you can see my other thread on that, but as for performance this thing rocks. I would not hesitate to buy an intake now if I were any of you. I was stripped for cash, but HAD to do it. I have a whole new truck now.

Can't wait to do my TB mod, and if/when I get a chip, I'll be in 7th heaven.
