mileage->Tonneau
My truck came with the cover so I don't have a comparison in MPG, but I will say that the soft cover has been the most practical mod on my truck. Easy to install and remove, and keeps things dry. I'll never have another truck without one.
Had I purchased a hard top, in the 6 months that I've owned the truck I would have had to remove it at 10 times.

some tonneau manufacturers claim you will see an increase in mileage. but i wouldn't count on more than 1/2 mpg. . . you probably won't even notice any increase given the variability in conditions etc. i put on a jason fiberglass lid and didn't really notice any difference in mileage.
Don't buy it for mileage gains!
I drove my truck for a few months before getting a cover. Took the same trips, with and without, same driving style, same temperature, etc.
No measurable difference. Don't buy it for mileage gains, buy it for looks, security, etc.

my g/f has one on her truck, like most here we put it on right away so don't know of any difference. however her truck is very similar to yours and she gets 21 mpg with it.
looks great with it on and it keeps things dry. not much for security though because soft tops are easily opened.

If it's possible to get any mileage gains. I would say get a soft cover. Both my trucks have the hard covers. When you buy them they try to claim that you will see M.P.G. gains. Only problem is that the extra weight cancels out any gains. And in some cases, actually decreases mileage. But they do look good.
