Cool

first of all have you already gotten all the mods you have mentioned??? because they work wonders on our trucks.....IF you havent start saving because they get pricey very quick..this is just my opinion but maybe for a few small exceptions i wouldnt waste my money on anything other than what you already mentioned......IF you are looking to keep going in mods save up for a supercharger .....thats what i am doing and i cant wait to be able to put in place other vehicles that always pick on me

i don't know about you guys for mods... the only thing that pisses me off, is then when i have it cranked at 3500rpm in 4th, the speed limiter kicks in, and i can't go over 160km/h (100mph for you americans)... i damm well know the truck can go faster, but it is a 4x4

if you are looking to increase the top end limiter ....
my hypertech chip raised it to 118 mph
oh ya , it also gave me 11hp / 42 lbs/torque

Chip It

The easiest way to get rid of the speed limiter is a Computer Chip. Whether your preference is Hypertech, Superchips, Jet, etc. I like Superchips because they are specially made for each computer in every car. The nice thing about the Superchips is even though it gets rid of the speed limiter, it keeps your rev limiter.

Talking CHIPPIN'

I am not sure about Superchip, but Jet Performance chips turn off the rev limiter completely, so a Tachometer would be recommended when using their product. Hypertech, however, allows you to choose your rev limit as well as your top speed. For instance, if you are running 33" tires your wheels will turn much more slowly with every revolution of the engine. Therefore, you could very well hit the stock redline of the 4.2L before you reach 118MPH. By changing the rev. limit and top speed to compliment other modifications, ie. intake, air filter, pulleys, etc., your engine will have more power, and you would want to adjust your peak RPM accordingly, if you pass that sacred "redline" for long, say bye-bye to your motor.

ok , heres the deal .....

the hypertech chip doesn't raise or lower the rpm limiter , the hypertech power programmer is the one that is adjustable for tire size/gears but it's not available fords .... only the chevys can change speed limiter (adjustable). the hypertech chip is non adjustable and raises the top end (speed) to 118 mph . i can't tell you about the jet chip though .

Chip

I know for a fact that the chip gets rid of the govern. I know that in 5th gear, I cannot go any faster than about 95 due to the 3.08 gearing. If I put it in 4th I can go past the speedo. I went about 106mph. That is while using the digital speedo. I would talk to Mike Troyer, the superchips rep., and see about having them re-program your chip to take the govern off.

Cool

I have put a glass pack single in dual out on my '98 F150. I love it. My truck sounds awesome now. Looks a heck of allot better on the rear now.

i think my truck with the 3.55's can hit 120 pretty easy. i have constant powerful acceleration from 6-9 in 3rd, and great acceleration from 90-100 in 4th. i know it has a lot left.
