2015 2.7 Ecoboost oil change pink o-ring residue

I have 27K miles on my 2015 XLT 4X4 and all oil changes have been at the dealer until now. The first thing I noticed was that the filter cap was put on incredibly tight, no way they torqued it to spec of 24. I noticed that all the o-rings were shedding a pink residue and that they were black rubber underneath. Small clumps of this pink stiff were on the threads of the filter housing and on the o-rings themselves, Certainly can't make a good seal with this pink stuff sloughing off the o-ring. Most disturbing was that this residue was plated on the inside of the metal filter housing. Just running your finger inside you can feel it. That should be a totally smooth machined surface.

So it's in the channel where the o-rings sit and plated on the interior of the housing. WHat is this pink stuff? Makes me wonder if the filter and o-rings were ever changed after 4 dealer oil changes??. Anybody know what the pink coating is on the o-rings and why it sheds like that? All Motorcraft parts and filters were used BTW!

as a diesel tech/mechanic we see this allot with diesel cartridge oil filters nearly all of them do it, wipe and re o-ring it. it shouldn't hurt anything. my guess is its a sacrificial lubricating coating for the rubber o-ring itself.
