How do you post a picture? I am on flat ground in this pic, doing 55 turning less than 1500 rpm it's about 1300 in 6th gear, and it's only getting about 15mpg. I am empty also and there wasn't a headwind or cross wind. O well guess I will be buying a diesel this week.

Its a good engine, but I don't understand it. I have got 50mpg out of a fiesta, 32 out of a V6 escape before, 25 out of a hopped up 2010 GT 500, and 23 out of a 06 supercharged mustang with 4.10s and an automatic. So I at least thought I would be getting better on the highway than 16

Also I appreciate everyone's input.

Quick question tho, everyone with the eco boost and the select shift transmission

Get the truck and trans to normal operating temp put it in manual mode at say 45-50 mph. Does it bog down when you floor it, or does it go right up to 2500 rpm? If it bogs let out of the throttle and do it a few more times. Then it should go right up to 2500 rpm on like your 3rd attempt. Idk if this has to do with programming error or just normal operation, or something is wrong with the trans. I also think it might have something to do with bad mileage.

Any thoughts?

As i stated before, i let the truck shift at 2k for optimal mpgs. Another feller told me that i cant control the shifting of my truck. I called bs and made a little video for him. Also made a video letting my truck shift at 2500 rpm from 1 to 6th gear and another video shifting at 3k all the way to 6th gear.

Here is the Mpg for the almost 200 miles on this tank, which is pretty normal for me

And Lifetime mpg for the truck. So its safe so say if you drive the truck as i stated in my previous post you will get good mpg's

Rob, you should see if their are any pcm updates available from ford. Few people have got them and seen a pretty big improvement.

I have a 2011 f150 ecoboost and get 24 MPG highway. I use 93 octane gas and a light foot. I have 3.55 gears. I only used 87 octane gas once and barely got 20 MPG on the highway. Higher octane better MPG on the highway as long as your not using boost.

You say that as if its a bad thing

Best i ever got on a actual tank was 22.3 mpg and that was babying it all 320 miles on the trip. I'm happy with the 20mpg as of now.I'm ordering some custom tunes today with 5star tuning, will be interesting if i get a little better after i get done testing the increased power and torque

My 24 MPG was all stock. I have just installed a 93 performance tune from livernois motorsports and will let you know after I drive on the highway what my MPG is. This will be on the 2nd tank of gas after the tuner was installed and should be accurate as can be on this 93 tune. More to come.... but I do agree driving with the turbos at full boost is fun or I would have just got a 5.0L

I just ordered my sct tuner with 5 star tunes. I was so close with going livernois but i was checking some youtube vids and a found a video of a guy with a blown engine and in the comments there was a few other guys with the exact same problem that had livernois tunes. I decided to play it a little safer. But that guy also had 115 videos and most of em was running the pi$$ out of his truck. So im betting more on abuse than the tune.

I think (some of) those Livernois tunes are just stupid aggressive too cause some of their gains are pretty amazing.

Welcome to the world of forced induction. The tune+exhaust on my Audi is good for +100Hp/+100Ft-Lb while still meeting all emissions requirements. This is from a 2.7L that isn't DI, has a lower CR than the EB without the variable cam timing. That motor also uses BW K03s and will hit ~23PSI of boost in 1st and 2nd.

I've been reading up on what all the EB can do and 500ish to the wheels is pretty easy to do. The only hold up right now is the fuel system. The DI is maxed out at this point. But there are a few companies that are just about to release their way around this then it's on.

I know tuners know how to make great power with turbo'd vehicles, and have been for some time, but running aggressive tunes and high boost levels can be and is harmful long term. Milder stuff is okay, of course, but some take it way too far. Like 500 HP from an EB is waaaay too much too IMO last as a daily driver if all you're doing is tweaking the tuning and swapping intercoolers.
