'97 4.2 v6 swaps

Hello all.
'97 150 auto 4x4 140k Wi truck. She starts, misfires warming up, scan tool says cyl 6, and then starts knocking. Dropped the front diff, pulled the oil pan and rod caps on cylinders 6, 5 and number 2 main. 6 spun in the rod end, 5 and main 3 are all copper, lead/grey worn away. Local machine shop figures 1400 to rebuild short block. Checking out options here. Local salvage yard has an 06 4.2 66k for 400 bucks. Thinking head swap, possibly oil pan is in order, just can't find a definitive answer as to if the lower end will swap. Appreciate the input.

Actually the biggest issues with that swap are going to be the sensors and electronics. You won't have to swap the heads but you will need to swap your throttle body, the 06 is electronic drive by wire throttle.

Thanks Alex. Had some time today and took apart the long block. Antifreeze leaking into the valley wiped the bearings. Cyl 1 spun as well. Thanks for your help. The '06 is on the engine stand.
