Love my ecoboost. I get in the low to mid 20s as long as I keep er under 65 mph. At 70 I get more like 18-20. Great truck, tons of power, super quite. Just what I need.

Fuel mileage is decent, but not great. Power is great, but only at significant sacrifice to fuel mileage. My number one complaint is now the stutter everyone is talking about. I'm on the national parts back-order list for the TSB that will hopefully fix the problem. Until then, literally every single time I mash the go pedal (and I don't mean flooring it), it falls on it's face and I have to let out. What a crock.

My blood runs blue and I love my truck, but I am not convinced the EB is the rockstar I hoped it would be just yet.

FWIW - 44k miles in almost exactly 24 months. Lots of them with a boat or motorcycle trailer in tow. I do not baby my truck to the nth degree, nor should I have to.
Update - I had the TSB parts installed this past Friday (4/26). Drove it home and it was still stuttering under heavy load on the freeway. I'm taking it back to the dealership tomorrow morning and the tech wants to go for a ride so he can feel exactly what I'm talking about. I hope they can fix it...

Ya know I'm kind of wondering if there is damage being done to spark plugs before the TSBs for the intercooler are done, I've been reading over the spark plug threads and as sensitive as these EB engines are tuning wise I'm wondering if it's possible the plugs need to be replaced due to fouling and different gapping on top of the intercooler TSB.

X2 gap them to .030
I would do it myself. This is the easiest truck I've owned in the last 16 years to change spark plugs on.

Ecoboost, No Problems

I do like the Ecoboost engine and have had zero problems with the 2012 F150 SuperCab 4x4, 3.55 gearing. With about 28,000 miles on the odometer and towing a 19ft travel trailer to Alaska and back last summer, I can say that the F150 has awesome power. We drove for a couple hundred miles in British Columbia in a steady, moderate rainfall, no problems with moisture in the intercooler. The transmission rarely shifts down. The gas mileage is about 1 to 2 miles per gallon better than the 2011 Chevy that I used to have, 10.4mpg average for the Alaska trip, and am guessing a 17mpg average when not towing (14mpg in city driving). When driven 65mph the truck gets great gas mileage and I have seen as high as 20 but usually 18-19, at 75mph the gas mileage goes down to usually about 16 point something.

What driveline, 2wd or 4wd? Which rear axle ratio, 3.31, 3.55, 3.73?

I'm driving a loaner EB, 4x4, 3.55 rear and getting 16.5 MPG in mixed driving.

interesting results so far - only 3 negative votes out of 92 responses.

... and THIS JUST IN... the most anti-ecoboost person in the forums just ordered a new F150 ecoboost...
https://www.f150online.com/forums/v6...-3-73-a-4.html

a very interesting turn of events.

I guess maybe we should say there are only 2 negative votes

I gave Prime about as crap as anybody, and I'm glad to see him back in a 150. He seems like a good guy though. He loved his first one other than it being, well, broken haha
