for Ecoboost owners
So far, this is the best truck I've ever owned. Without a doubt I would purchase another one. Several friends and family members have been looking at my truck and are making purchases based on what they saw. I've even swayed my father who still works and drives for a living. He puts on 50K miles a year on his trucks. He switched from Fords to Chevys years ago. After driving my truck around for one day, he said his next truck will be a F-150 Ecoboost.
Bottom line, this truck is amazing.

My 2011 ecoboost is the 3rd f150 I've owned. I love it. I don't mind that it's quiet. It's a sleeper for sure. I'm more than satisfied getting 20mpg with a crew cab 6.5ft bed 4x4. The engine really shines when you put a trailer behind it. The only area needing attention is the chassis. Aftermarket air bag spring supports are needed in the rear if you plan on towing with heavy cargo in the bed, even if its under the payload capacity.
Jury's still out on mine. Had it just over 3 weeks (1600 miles) now and loved it right up until 2 days ago. Whenever the turbos spool up or down it makes a burping/growling sound and doesn't take off like it did. I used to be able to just step down on it in 6th gear at 40 or 45 and it would take off, no downshift or anything. Now it shifts down to 5th and revs before it goes!
Going to dealer next week, soonest they could get it in.

I originally intended to reply as a definite "ABSOLUTELY NOT!". Instead, knowing how much I love the available power of the engine, I think I would be a bit more cautious and take it for a LONG test drive first.
Unfortunately, my truck, although I love every other aspect of it, is one that I have to absolutely baby the gas pedal to get 18 mpg's on the highway (and that's at 55mph... set the cruise at 70 and it dips into the low 17's... 16's if the AC is running). I've talked personally with several people who are getting low 20's at 70mph, so I know it's possible. But my truck is just one of those that ford refuses to recognize as having a problem.
I've owned nine f150's going back to a 1976 with a 460 (five of them bought new). All the rest had either the 302 or the 5.4 and I can honestly say, the only one that got worse mileage than my '11 Lariat Screw was the 76.

i ABSOLUTELY would buy EcoBoost again!
The power climbing the steep grades at altitude was impressive!
(2011 SuperCrew King Ranch EcoBoost, just shy of 20,000 miles.)
P.S. - My last truck was a 2005 2WD with a 5.4 and a 3.55 rear. It had a fraction of the power, and didn't get anywhere NEAR the gas mileage that my EcoBoost gets!

Being a hardcore GM/Chevy truck fan all of my life, I cannot say enough about my EB F150 Screw 157. Although I am not getting some of the mileage numbers many are claiming to get, (my fault for not being able to keep my foot out of it) it is the best truck I have ever owned.
May be a D-head move on my part, but having become quasi-friends with the GM service manager, I brought my F150 to the GM dealership and told him I had found a way to finally solve the issues we had been working on: He asked... "Really"? "How'd you do that buy a new truck"? "Yup" Then he saw the Ford out the window.
He responded with "Off the record"... "You are not the first to jump ship and unfortunately won't be the last"

Am now at a bit over 17,000 miles with the Ecoboost, 4x4 Supercab, 3.55 gearing, and while not towing it has maintained the 18+ MPG average. We recently towed a small 18 ft travel trailer (3850 lbs empty) to Alaska and back, 7500 miles for the round trip, and found the F-150 never lacking for power. It is a very comfortable ride, nice seats. While it is not the easiest to convert liters to gallons in Canada we did not maintain a complete record of the gas mileage for the trip but when we did check it usually came out between 10 and 10.5 MPG.
I would still have no reservations about buying another Ecoboost F150. Ford is on to something here.
