Hey Guys,

I was looking on a different forum and the guys were talking about the cord for the engine block heaters. Do these trucks (ecoboost) have an engine block heater, and if so where is the cord. I looked under the hood and I didn't see anything. Thanks Tim

 

I think it's an option, probably with a cold weather package. If it has a heater, it will probably be in a freeze plug hole.

 

My EB has one. Cord is tucked in the bumper opening for the intercooler.

 

That's where I saw it on the other forum, when I looked under mine I didn't see a cord. I'll have to take another closer look.

Believe it or not, my 97 was made in Canada and it didnt even come with one. I bought a parts trucks and that came with one. I will be changing it over very soon though.

 

Believe it or not, not all Canadian vehicles come with block heaters...I'm pretty sure its an option on alot of vehicles now....Usually not to hard to install, but not sure on EB.

 

i have a 2013 screw EB and am recently going through the fix for fuel in the engine oil, the fix is replacing the current block heater which is located in the thermostat housing to installing an old school in the frost plug hole in the block type heater. The installation is not simple, as they have to remove the left turbo to do it. Basically a day in the shop. hope this answers the block heater question( Manitoba Canada, currently -20 F )

 

Winter is upon us here in Montana and I have looked everywhere to find where to plug my 1997 Ford F150 truck in and I can't find it anywhere; can someone please help me? Thanks

 

Are you sure you even HAVE a block heater? They were an option in 97, not standard equipment.

 

It is located by the front license plate holder. Usually coiled up behind it
