Exclamation Engine doesnt turn but it does make one single click

I was driving my fathers F-150 today down a street doing regular speed limit when i noticed it started to shake. As soon as i felt it shake i decided to pull over to check the oil and tranny fluids. Everything was in perfect condition. When i went back to start it back up it would not start. It only makes a single click when the key is turned. Any ideas of what it might be ??

Sounds like a dead battery to me.

I agree with GLC, but i'd check the alternator. Shouldn't have died while driving. If you can boost it to start then grab a multimeter (or if you have a battery gauge on the dash) and read what the battery is at, it should be around 14 volts or so.

yeah, if it started acting up while driving it would be the alternator not the battery, then again you said you were driving down a street, if it was a short drive i doubt the battery would only last that long.

Check your battery connections. Check the grounds, and the wires to your starter.
