3.7L Supercharger

Is there a Ford approved supercharger or turbocharger for the new 3.7L in the F150?

I would imagine your best bet would be finding a kit for the Mustang and making it work on the F150... I seriously doubt there will be much of an aftermarket following for the 3.7 specific to the F150. Most people buying that engine are placing performance dead last in their priority list.

Yes the EB is my choice of engines, but I like the XLT Custom Package body trim much better than the XLT or the FX. Also, I am not crazy about the steel gray interior this year. So I was thinking get the appearance that I want and do a little Ford approved work on the 3.7L and I would have the truck I want.

I'll hit the Mustang forums and see what they have, but I was wondering if any F150 folks had 'beat me to the punch'.

Nah, still such a new engine for the F150 line up. Only member on here I can think of that has one is Wittom. But I agree with what was mentioned, probably not much of a market for SC\TC for that engine.

For the price of a supercharger on a 3.7 you could get a 5.0 or the EB and use the money to buy katskinz leather or Wet Okole seat covers and be way ahead financially. I think there are a few interior pieces that are different in the Custom Package, you could order those from a Ford dealer and still be ahead.

No supercharger system that I am aware of keeps your factory warranty in effect for the full term. Some of the Ford Racing stuff only give you 12 months.

I'd be surprized if someone came up with a system for the 3.7. It's already a high compression motor. I don't know that there is much room for boosting, unless you want to invest a bunch of money. The other engine options should satisfy most people's need for speed (or power as the case may be).

I don't expect to see much in the way of mods for the V6. I'd personally like to see a flash tuner to tweek some of the factory dulling. Other than that I don't think I'll be trying to turn my V6 into a speedster. I've got to get my Ranger idea going soon. A light weight turbo four banger.

Supercharger for 3.7

Procharger is making a supercharger for the 3.7 in the mustang....I'm pretty sure it wouldn't take much to modify it for the F-150, but be prepared, the supercharger alone is around $5,600 without the installation, the company also sells a powertrain warranty to go along with it.

My ordered 3.7 came in last week. 300 miles so far. You are correct, I bought it for MPG. If I want performance, I ride my motorcycle or my sleds. I am 59 now and thinking fixed income in early retirement are tops on my priority list. I may be last but not dead.
Chris, now you know 2 on the forum, Wittom and myself.

If they would offer a manual transmission in a 3.7 truck, I'd probably go buy one. I guess I'll be driving my 03 till it dies.

Correct Procharger does have a kit fot the 2011 3.7L Mustang. The August 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords magazine has a Procharger install on a 2011 3.7L Mustang.Stock 259 Horsepower at 6,550 rpm and 226.97 lb.ft. of torque at 5,650 rpm at the rear wheels.Procharger with stock airbox 403 Horsepower at 6,750 rpm and 327.68 lb.ft. of torque at 6,050 rpm at rear wheels.Procharger with Open conical air filter 415.73 Horsepower at 6,750 rpm and 337.14 lb.ft. of torque at 6,050 rpm at the rear wheels. It doesn't really say if it was a Automatic or Standard shift car they tested with.

Later Mark.

I know this is a dead thread, but thought I'd add some insight anyway. I'm pretty sure all of the dyno testing they did was on a manual model because they don't sell you a kit with a tune that will work with the auto trans. At any rate, since this kit is designed for the Mustang, you'd have to have it dyno tuned to work with the gearing, intake and cam profile that I'm sure is different in the truck version of the motor. They sell a "tuner" version of the kit that is specifically for that purpose on the auto version, and it's discounted from the full kit with tune. American Muscle took one of these kits and built an 11 second v6 auto mustang with it, and CFM Performance got one into the 10s, so a lot can be done with these motors. I don't think either had to mess with the heads or the internals on the engine either.

Okay, this post is super old, but I bought the 3.7 as well....because I love a challenge. Let's say the market must have expanded in a year. I just ordere a cat back Magnaflow Exhaust, Edge Tuner, Roush Air Intake, BBK Throttle Body and JET mass air meter. Set me back about $2K. As of yet, still no supercharger that I have found. Anything changed on that in a year?

I am wondering about a Zex wet Nitrous + E85 injection added and tune for variety. Love to see a XL 4X2 spank an EB. LOL
