Post I did the install.

I went and did it. I purchased a Sunpro Tachometer 2012. And Lord was it an *** to install... I followed the guide lines that LTD wrote on installing an aftermarket tach. And it works fine and dandy, except it is a little off like maybe a 50-100 rpm's to the digital tach in the odometer. I was going to get a tach with a big shift light but I thought that it would be a little tacky since I don't have a blower or nos. So I like it... I wish I could get some pics of it... it looks really cool

Congratulations on your install.

What wire did you tap into to measure the rpm's of the engine. I have an autometer, that I have had for about a year now, waiting to be installed. The only wire I am having trouble finding is the RPM wire.

Thanks in advance!

I hooked my RPM wire up to the main computer connector at the 48 pin, there is a thread in the aftermarket section about how to do the hook up... You better have an after noon free to do the install it took me about 3 hours to do it all I still haven't been able to find a place to hook up the dimmer white wire yet...

i have found that the easiest place is tap into the wires behind the instrument panel. there are power and ground and tach signal lines there, you just have to find them

Hey Superfreak,

What year is your truck? I was never told that a tach wire is there.
