Post any hard numbers before and after MAS mod.

I was curious if any one here has dyno tested before a MAS mod and then after? What were the results? I have never seen any real numbers from anyone showing any gains or losses as a result of this mod. I saw where one guy is trying to figure out where he lost 40RWHP from one years dyno to the next. His sig shows the MAS mod. Anyway I was just curious as I said.

nope... however,

I lost .2 on the 1/4 mile. but my time in sig was ran at 53 degrees and all the other times i have ran was at 80-90 degrees... so that could be expected since it was hotter. I feel better pick-up tho.

Thanks for the reply. I should of said MAF mod instead of MAS. I would think the temp would cause the loss. I have found that I can pull three gears easily now. Its kind of fun getting 3rd. Probably due to light rear end though. But I have heard some on here talk as if they cant get 2nd. Autos I don’t know what they feel like. Also I have heard others say that some engines seem stronger from the factory. Mine has never felt low in power. With the mods I have done It feels very strong. I have decided not to get a superchip due to the 20 cent per gallon fun tax. But truly I think I would just get in trouble with much more anyhow. Wet roads are already a bitch for me, if I don’t take it easy that is. I have the effects of altitude (thinner air) and high heat here, I hover between 4400 and 5000 feet here in El Paso and temps near 100.

Hey Schmidlapper,
The loss was due to corrected hp numbers last year, as appossed to uncorrected numbers this year. A couple of local racers and I started figuring out the corrections and at sea level I should be pulling about 200-205 RWHP, which with all of the mods I've made I have actually gained around 40hp at the rear. I have done burn outs and run them into 2nd gear and close to 100' long. So there is a definate improvment.

Talleywacker,
Do you know how much it cost (ball park) to get rear wheel dynoed? I would love to get an idea of where mine is at now. That is super rear wheel horse power. Your sig must not include all your mods though. I am thinking the hp loss between the Auto and the 5 speed may be why I have always felt mine was strong stock. I figure the difference in hp (rear wheel) between the auto and the 5 spd would equal the gains (rear wheel) of adding a superchip to an auto. Then maybe not.
