Thumbs up Ford is pickin up the tab

I took my truck to the dealer and it has the timing cover coolant leak and the dealer told me the owner notification was expired. Well i called Fords North American Customer Service number and explained the situation and that im registered with owner connection and never received notification even though ive had the truck almost two years. Well Ford called the dealer and now im not paying a single cent to fix the truck. Damn i love Ford, they fix mistakes unlike other companies.

When did the owner notification come out?

I may or may not be leaking coolant, I just now noticed a low level. I haven't had the chance to really poke around yet.

According to the dealer this notification has been out for 5 years but even the guy at Ford Customer Service said that is a fishy statement becuase the trucks have only been made for 4 years and it would take a while to discover the problem. But either way i never received any notification but somehow Ford talked the dealer into pickin up the tab.

I could tell mine had the leak because when i crawled under it all the hoses looked just fine and their was coolant on the oil pan near the timing chain cover.

just a suggestion, when you take your truck to Ford ask if theyll reduce the the diagnosis fee since its most likely a defect problem in case they wont cover it
