Headlights will not come on, all other lights OK

Driving tonight, my headlights quit working. The high beam indicator is lit up, but no high or low beams. All other lights, signals, brake lights, flashers are working. I have checked all the fuses under the dash, they are fine.

I cannot get the cover off the power distribution module, I am worried I will break it. How does this come off? It might be stuck, I don't think it's ever been opened. So I can't check anything in there yet.

Not sure if this is related, but shortly after the headlights went out, I got a check engine light.

Thanks.

Dan

If you got a CEL, you need to read out the codes.

It has electrical tape over the cover you have to take off if you've never done it before.

It could be a couple of things. I had a 98 and 99. On one the relay under the dash went out, and twice I've had the switch actually go out.
