Post poweraid or new tb

I'm looking to modify my truck and I was wondering if the poweraid spacer is any good. I have read past post and it seems that people with bigger engines dont like them. How about the V-6 people.
I am also wondering about a new tb. Is there any with a larger diameter intake that would work with my truck?

The best you can do for a larger tb is have one ported and polished.Go to www.supersixmotorsports.com , www.rpm-mustangs.com
They should be more than willing to help you out

Meche here is a post that I wrote on the Helix which is like the PowerAid. Just my 2 cents worth..

Tom - before and after the Helix was installed I made note of my gas mileage and yes I did see an increase on mileage. Before the Helix I was getting around 290 miles on a tank of gas and after I started to get 320 miles on a tank and that's city. The highway mileage increased also. Just this weekend on a trip I hit 420 miles on the tank of gas and I have never done that before.

On the performance I did notice some increase off the line but nothing to brag about. You need to understand that I have the 4.2 v6 and I am looking for any little power gain that I can get. With the Superchip, Muffler, open air box, K&N filter, and the Helix I have gained some horsepower. I have always wanted to Dyno my truck to see what I have gained but I don't know of a place in Houston to go and get this done. I feel that the Helix was a good buy due to the better gas mileage that I get.

Hey 99XLT,

Was thinking of getting the poweraid set, however, a lot of people on these boards say that their trucks make a whistling sound once installed. Is this true for you? If so, is it livable. I mean, I have a dumped exhaust so is this gonna be so bad, that I will have to crank my radio up even louder?

MechE the Helix was $89. Its was a little cheaper than the PowerAid.

Split, yep it has the whistling sound but it dosen't bother me anymore like it did at first. I guess things like that might bother some people more than me.

Question

hey, 99XLT
Where can I get one of these, Helix TB that you talk about in your bulletin. It seems to be just the aftermarket product that I'm looking for, not that expencive, but definately seems to be quite effective and effiecent. Any information would be a bigg help, thanks Powertrax
