Cool My Muffler Seems to be leaking Water. Any other 4.2's had this prob?

Well after my last oil change, I drove my truck a lil bit to warm it up and then checked all the oil pressure / dipstick again. To my surprised when i looked under my truck there was a long line of water running down my driveway. I looked to see where it was coming from and it was the back of the muffler. Now on my chevy 93 silverado I had a problem that I didn't drive it enough and condensation from combustion would build up in the muffler. This, then ate away a hole in my muffler because the water is acitic. Has anyone else had a problem with their exhaust system? And is it covered in Ford's bumper to bumper warranty?

Thanks for the help

What you are experiencing is the same thing as with your silverado. I noticed water under my new truck when I parked it at home after a short trip. When I looked underneath I saw that it was coming from the factory drain hole in the rear of the muffler. This condensation is normal and unavoidable. One of the disadvantages of having that huge muffler is that it takes alot of heat to warm it up enough to evaporate all that water.

I have the same experience(s). When I saw it was coming from a 'designed in" drain hole I did'nt worry about it. I have a very short commute so I let it warm up for a couple of minutes so I can "hit it" reasonably hard on a short section of my travel path. I am hoping this helps to blow out that which can't completely evaporate.

I had the same problem, but once I changed to a way smaller less restictive muffler it all went away
