imagill: I have the 265's and it burns. However with those BFG's I doubt you will get any spin unless the ground is frozen.

getsumbaby: What else have you ordered along with your kit? A few things to remember when you install and before you install:

-A bottle heater is ESSENTIAL for the system to work, especially if you mount the bottle in the bed.
-An inline NO2 filter will keep you running debris free and will help out your system by keeping your solenoids from clogging up.
-A bottle pressure guage-A MUST!
-Purge system, only if you want the best from your system.
It isn't cheap(although far cheaper than a S/c). I will get some pics of my install for you as soon as I get some free time. are you mounting it in the bed or cab? I have a std. cab and a 15lb bottle, so of course mines out back....

About using the 100 shot- update your ignition stuff(plugs-i went a 2 steps colder for when I'm pushing it at the track), and I changed my fuel filter to make sure nothing was gonna get in the way of my fuel. If you run 93 oct, are very conservative about when you spray, and spray when and for how long it says, you will be fine. just don't get greedy.

About gears for you other fellows, 3.73's are an excelent alternative to the 3.55-4.10 decision.

Cool

Well. Ill look at what I exactly got in the kit. I was going to put a micro-switch on the throttle cable so the NOS will work only at full throttle.
Thanks for the info - look foreward to seeing some pics.

The micro switch is a PITA! I'll draw up a diagram for you on how I mounted it, maybe you can refine it to your tastes. It was hard to make one to fit under the plastic cover, yet still allow proper placement for activation.

One of the fastest ways to injure your rear-end is spinning one tire.

Two reasons:

a) the little spider gears don't have roller/ball bearings -- and the brass bushing overheats easily -- self-destructing and increasing gear-lash.

b) the wheel that is spinning is going as much as twice the speed as the other one due to the 2X gear ratio while 100% differentiating. The tiny little gears (or the cross) can't take the jolt when the tire stops spinning against the flywheel effect of the raging engine -- and the result is a shock failure that won't pass the inspection of any but the most incompetent of warranty administrators.

I have a 98150 reg cab flareside that will spin them off the line.It has a 4.2 with 3.73 gears from the factory, and stock 235-70/16 general grabbers on it.I dont know if it is because the bed on the flaresides are mostly fiberglass, but Ive been pretty impressed with my truck.

That's the kit! It is a dry kit(it injects only nitrous). You may find it quite elementary to install. BE PREPARED-YOUR TRUCK IS ABOUT TO BE TRANSFORMED!

For all of you putting bigger tires on your tucks. After you put bigger tires on your truck take it down to the dealer and have them program your new tire size into the computer. It will put your shifting points back to the way your truck was before you changed the tires. This will also fix your speedo. All at a cost of about $65.00.

ILUVNOS: So that is the kit to go with? I thought it was a wet kit - my bad. your saying dry will be better for the truck? and im ordering all the rest of the stuff you mentioned in one of the above posts.

hee hee hee - i cant wait.

When they redo the computer...will that mess up the superchip....should we take it off before we bring it to FORD or is it fine to leave it on while they reprogram it?

Here is the kit I ordered for my V6. This is the one NOS recommended. Im going to make it 100hp instead of 75hp. I got it from summit racing. You might be able to get it from this site, youll have to call and find out. If you require any more info email me or ILUVNOS knows alot about this. Thats who I will be talking to about my NOS install.

You should remove it. FORD doesnt like to see it in the vehicle. Just a warning. I already heard it from my dealer!!! Might void the warrenty if it causes any problems to the truck.

Take out your superchip.

Getsumbaby- The dry kit is best for newer runner style intakes where the nitrous is injected before the throttle body. This keeps fuel from puddling in the intake and possibly causing a destructive backfire. Your truck will add the extra gas through the injectors. You will see more easily how this works when you get your kit and the instruction book. IMO, this is much easier than a wet kit to install, and much safer for street use.

Beware of them "reprogramming the PCM".

They "reflashed" the computer in my 4.2L for a check up for a cold start problem 2 years ago. So, it is no longer the same computer indicated by the code #. I did not ask them to do this and they did not discuss it with me before doing it. When I bought my SuperChip this year I had to send the computer to SuperChip for them to figure out what program it was and reprogram the chip to work.

I'd say they may try to invalidate your warranty for any number of the modifications you've got including even the K&N filter because I've heard they have claimed that the oil on the filter can cause problems with the MAF sensor and other intake components. I'd suggest finding some other mechanic shop that deals with performance vehicles, particularly late model one's to see if they can do the programming. From my experience, almost any yahoo is better than the dealers.

Just my opinion of course.
