Got my Ravin Z55 exhaust installed
Just got a Ravin Z-55 put on yesterday, I was really impressed with the quality of the sound, a nice deeeep tone. No pops or inconsistent sounds. It has a nice mellow tone at idle, but when you step on it you can defenitly be heard. Even though I went with the z-55 instead of the louder z-33, I still am very impressed. The system is available at Midas, Considering I have the V-6, I was very pleased to find the system to enhance the sound of the truck, producing a nice deep tone. After researching all the available options, and almost dropping a load of money on a borla system, I am very pleased with the system I decided on. The total bill installed with tax came to $160. I got the single in - single out; with a 3" diameter, 11" long chrome tip. I'd recommend anyone looking for a quality product look into this setup.

Thanks Sparks,
I had heard a few commercials about them but was worried how they would sound on a V6. My friend put one on his V8, and it sounded great. He said they have less restriction than even the flow masters. He could not stop saying how great they were, and the performance he noticed. I'm going to head out tomorrow and find out some more about them. Once agian, Thanks.

I have to be honest, I was worried about the sound as well before I got it installed. But I was assured by the guys at Midas that the sound would not be disappointing even on the V6 the muffler is suppose to stress the deep tones and eliminate high frequency sounds making the sound deep, smooth and consistent. Once they finished the work and started her up, I was not dissapointed a bit. And these mufflers are suppose to flow better than the flowmasters. Since I've had it on, I've gotten many compliments on the quality of sound, and even more curiosity and interest when I mention I got the performance exhaust from Midas, from the reactions I've recieved I think Midas is going to be very busy installing more of these systems.

Preyhunter,
The ravin system comes standard with the muffler, then you negotiate the rest of the system with the midas you're dealing with. If you want dual out the back they'll fashion a custom system for your specific wants, If you want a certain length tip that they don't have, just purchase the tip you'd like the most and bring it with you. They'll do whatever you want them to, even try the different mufflers, z33, z55 and see which you prefer. Just find a midas that's willing to work with you the best. As far as mandrel bent pipe, I just used my stock pipe and had them weld on a good quality tip. The stock pipe is mandrel bent, smooth pipe through the curves and bends, no crimps or anything, but some of the pipe they have if you want something other than stock might not be mandrel bent, you just need to ask them before you get it installed. And on Ravin's website, www.goravin.com, they do have mention of the systems coming with mandrel bent pipe. If you call the number on the website , 1-800-Ravin4U , you could possibly get more information from them about it as well. If you go with the Ravin though you won't be disappointed.
