Gasoline
Has anyone out there experimented with different brands of gasoline? I know that in different areas of the country gas formulations are different. I have found the truck to run much better on Texaco, but my service advisor told me that Texaco gas was crap and that Ford told him to recommend Chevron. Well, I tried that and the truck doesn't like it. Doesn't like Shell, either. Any suggestions?

I've tried many, my truck seems to like Texaco, Mobil, and Shell better than Exxon or Chevron. Good Luck !

I often use Texaco.

Texaco or Chevron is what I go with. I am trying to stay away from Phillps though. When I use it gas mileage sucks. I get only about 300 miles on a tank while with Texaco I can get 380 or 390. Problem is though Phillips is one of the few gas stations in my town

If i remember correctly the superchips distrib said texaco, shell, mobil are good. Chevron, exxon, bp are bad. And don't shell and texaco switch off with the same raw gasoline and just add a different additive before its sold. I personally just stick with shell and mobil.

Well I started using Chevron when I first got my truck stock. After I put in a Superchip, I used nothing but Texaco. Recently, I filled my truck up with Mobil and have used it for the past two tanks. I love it! I didn't think it would make any difference but I get better power on the freeway when passing other cars now. So, I'm sticking with Mobil.
i use mobil almost exclusively and have had nothing but good results with it!!! Not only that, but Mobil has about the best prices out of the 5 or 6 staions near my house.

I try to use a local station called swifty that is always 5 to 6 cents a gallon cheaper than every one else, my truck seems to run very good on it, and my mileage seems to be as good or better than any where else. Plus they're the only station I've seen down here in years that still has full service, and its only a penny a gallon, I love it.
