What's the fastest any of you have been able to get your v6 powered trucks? And under what conditions (1/4 mile strip, interstate, oval)

100 Plus mph. I was on the highway wish I knew exactly how fast the speedodometer doesn't read any higher than 100, but she did continue to accelarate after I hit 100.

The “Steed” hit 110mph on the interstate and still had room for more. And she's stock.

I have had mine hit 99 but at that point the computers govenor stops it from going any faster. At that speed I am at 3200 rpm. I have to get rid of the damn gevenor.

I got mine up that high on a long downhill stretch while trying to beat a train to an intersection. It may have been limited to 98 or 99, but it sure looked like the speedometer was over 100, maybe I was mistaken.

I have to agree with snow white, there is something fishy about going over 100mph bone stock.

The Super Chip will turn off the Top Speed Limiter. Mike Troyer told me that it varies from truck to truck, but usually the govenor is set at 98-99 mph. Some of advantages to chipping your truck is the removal of the govenor as well as the horsepower and MPG gains.

I only did it once following a friend in a Mustang 5.0 and was told we hit 110mph. Even my passengers who were truck owners themselves were baffled. Being that it was a truck, 4.2 v6 no less, we did not expect it to do that. When you are amongst good friends you normally wouldn’t question it. But now I wonder if he was fibbing. I hope there is nothing wrong with my computer. If you gentlemen say that top speed should be 98 + on a good day then maybe there is something wrong. Everything seems to be running ok.
Should I get my computer checked by the dealer?
I will take my “Steed” to the dealer in the morning while it is still under warranty.

Before the Superchip, mine was governed at 94 mph (maybe because of the automatic transmission?). Don't know how fast it will go now, but it will go beyond the 100 on the speedo.

Mine is also stock, I stayed over 100 for a 1/2 hour or so on a long trip up the 395 in CA, never had a problem. Can't wait to see what it will do with a flowmaster and an airaid.

Question

How on earth are you guys going over 100 on and still be running stock? I have a '00 and before I got my Superchip the Top speed limiter would kick in at 98 mph. Seems like a fish tale to me.

I love my chip. On the 5-spd it helps out with acceleration and it improved my gas mileage. I must warn you, if you buy one don't expect it to turn your truck into a fire breathing monster. It takes time for the computer to re-learn after you install, but like I said it is a great mod. Before I had the chip I had to change from 2nd to 3rd at around 40-45 mph now I can hold out to around 60.

Fakefvc: our trucks are identical so you will see the same result I have or you should anyway.

I am not an expert, if you want the exact computer changes breeze on over to the Computer Chips board and find Mike Troyer. He is the man with all of the answers and he can even hook you up with a chip.

My truck is the fastest truck I've ever driven be it full size v8 or compact v6. I can't explain it but there are some of these trucks that run very differently that the others. One of these days we'll figure out why.
