Hi ferdi_n,

Welcome to F-150 Online!

Your vehicle's Powertrain Control Module (PCM), also referred to as the Engine Control Unit (ECU), or the vehicle's "computer", is located inside the cabin on the passenger side of the vehicle. It will be to the right of the dash, and just above the passenger's kick panel. To get an idea of it's exact vertical placment, take a look under the hood. If you will look right behind the battery, on the firewall, you will see the computer's wiring harness. It will have a single 10mm bolt head dead-center. This harness is connected to the very front of your computer, as it is mounted so that the first inch or so of the computer passes thru the firewall, so it can connect to it's wiring harness. So taking a quick look under the hood to see where the wiring harness is connected to the front of the computer will give you a good idea of exacxtly where it is inside the cabin, ok?

The computer itself is a 6" X 9" galvanized aluminum box in appearance. When you go intot eh cab on the passenger side, you will see the computer just above the passenger's kick panel. The computer will be held to it's mounting bracket by a black pressure clip.

Please feel free to call us if you need further assistance,

Question

Friends,

Would like to install an after market "TACH" from Autometer which connects to the PCM.

Has anyone installed a "TACH" on their truck yet that may give me some advise?
