Timing Chain
OHC engines with external rubber timing belts needed to be preventatively changed at 60k miles. I don't think I have ever heard of a suggested change interval for timing chains. It was especially important for the belts, as a lot of those engines were "interference" engines. That is, if belt broke, cam and valves went out of sync with pistons, and if a valve was open, piston could hit it on the way up, a big expensive smash.
I suspect the 4.2 is a "clearance" engine, no smash possible. As to how much chain stretch or sprocket wear, don't know, most V8's go on and on well beyond 100k with no chain problems these days.
