Towing Haulmark 6x16 duel axle trailer?
Towing Haulmark 6x16 tandem axle trailer?
I have a 5 speed manual with 3.55 non LS. Curb weight of this trailer is 1595 LBS and it says the hitch weight is 200 LBS. I'm guessing there will be about 1500 to 2000 LBS of stuff in the trailer. The trailer has a 7000 LB GVWR. Will I be ok just to drive it 2 miles across town and back? I just don't want to flatten out my leaf springs. Any idea what the loaded hitch weight would be? Obviously most of the weight is on the trailers axles. The exactly model trailer is the Haulmark Transport DLX 6x16 tandem axle. It'll have a ton on music gear. Huge speakers, subs, instruments, etc. My roommate towed this previously with his 1996 Blazer which has since died (not from towing, has many issues). I figured if the Blazer could take it, my F150 should be able to as well? However, the Blazer was almost sitting on bump stops while doing so. I told him I'd tow it as a favor.. plus my truck never gets any work and I want to see how it does. I'm guessing since I'm 2wd with 4x4 blocks in the back (my rake is about 3 or 4 inches higher in the rear) that this should only level me?
Thanks guys.
Thanks guys.

Off topic, but do you have any pics of your truck with the OEM blocks and 1.5 AS? I'd like to see that. I have OEM blocks with nothing up front.
I'll try to get some in the next day or so. I really like the height and proportions of the truck, much better than stock, and still have some rake in the back.
Thank you. I look forward to seeing them.

I love that you even tire shine on the trailer tires. Our looks the same, only white and it's a dual axle. It has the trailer brakes but I don't have a brake controller hooked up in my truck.
A couple from today, not spotless but clean enough. Cap is basically for the dog and junk I don't want out in the open. I know it isn't a perfect match but it was cheap!

yes, you will definitely know its there.
i thought max was 5000Lbs. i am pretty sure its 5000 with a manual and 3.55s and 5500 for an auto
wolverine08, thanks for posting those pics. Your truck looks really good. I might have to get that 1.5 AS... unless they make a 1" AS?
timmypstyle, I think 5000# is just what the class III hitch can handle. I'm pretty sure it is 3700# with a manual and 3.55's.
Also, I can't believe you were doing 85 with a full 5x10. I don't think the tires they use on those Uhauls are meant to go over 60ish. That's they that have the MPH thing on the fenders. You're lucky, it's dangerous to go that fast towing as much as good did. Glad you made it though.

I don't think they can due to the studs/nuts won't work in that narrow of a space (1"), last I heard anyway. I'm happy with mine.
