vaccum leak with pics, need part # please!

1998 F150 4.2 V-6.

Check Engine light on, codes read 02 sensor, heard a hissing from under the manifold.

90 Degree elbow is sucking air through a hole in it.

Part is pictured below. Does anyone know a part # offhand?

Thanks!

This should help.

Just go to www.rockauto.com, look up your year/model/engine and look under emission.

According to the Stealership this is part # F65Z6762CA

$14.98 plus tax.

Found it at Autozone as well for $12.99, part # 46017

Hope this can help someone in the future. I plan on changing out the bad elbow tomorrow. Looks pretty tight in there, should be interesting.

Took about ten minutes & two beers to replace the elbow.

Think I read somewhere on here a Dealer wanted $300+ to fix this issue.

Hope this help someone from being taken to the cleaners at a Dealership.

Don't remember exactly what they were. Check engine light came on about 6 months ago, took it Autozone & they read the codes- said O2 sensor. I pulled them off & cleaned them & reset the computer by diconnecting the battery.

Check engine light came on again a week later. Has been on since then.

Truck started to idle really rough lately when I started it up but seemed to run fine at speed. It wasn't until I popped the hood three days ago to check it that I heard the telltale hissing of the elbo sucking air.

Hardest part was finding a part # in all of this.

New here, but I've been reading the site for months (fixed many things and gotten numerous ideas...so thanks!) I had the same issue, codes were P0171 and P0174. Found a leak in the previously mentioned elbow under TB, as well as in the hose running from the PCV to the intake. The PCV hose was so corroded that I had to remove the manifold to get to it...I went ahead and replaced the upper gasket while it was off and cleaned everything with carb cleaner (IAC, EGR, TB). Codes cleared and runs so smooth...

Ive done the same as said above. My engine has ~90K miles on it and it was DIRTY when I took the upper mani off. I think I spent a good hour sitting on top of the engine just scrubbing away with a toothbrush and some Deep Creep. What a smoke show when it was done, though!

What's the big deal removing the air intake ? As the OP mentioned in this thread, - 10 minutes/two beers and he was done.

the elbow isn't in the back, it is under the TB (maybe you're thinking of the PCV hose). the intake is simple to take off, so I recommend removing it if you're looking to replace the elbow. if you need to replace the PCV hose at the back of the manifold as well, it will depend on how bad the hose is. my hose was melted on. after pulling as hard as I could, it wouldn't move. I had to take off the upper manifold to could get to it. if you do this, replace upper manifold gasket too.
