That is a heck of a deal! I bought mine (Scab, XLT, Sport) new in 02' and paid $22,xxx. Sticker was around $27,xxx. My 97' 4.2 was a 5spd, but it was an XL, reg cab, etc. When I was shopping in 02' I looked for a 5spd, but couldn't find one with the options I wanted on the lot, so I went with the auto. It took quite a few mods (custom tuning, intake, re-gearing) for me to be happy with the trucks performance, but I am quite impressed with it now. I work the hell out of this truck and it doesn't skip a beat.

v6

I have V6 and all i use is for back and forth to work and occasional hauling but i understand what you talk about when you don't have passing gear but i think with just a new throttle body i should give it a little more go but i love my v6 its my first truck and planning on keeping for a long time no need to buy new everytime when what you got can be rebuilt

A throttle body isn't going to do anything for your truck.

Uh not really. Unless you can shift like a ****, its really nothing different. If I recall your in the high nines, along with my truck with less mods. (V6, green one).

With bigger tires and no gears I would prefer a stick though so you can shift when comfortable.

You responded to an 11 yr old thread. And you are misinformed. The 97 to 03 5.4 and the 4.6 both have 2 valves per cylinder and are both very reliable. The 04 and up 3 valve per cylinder 5.4 engines are the ones with valve train issues because they have variable cam timing and that causes issues.

There is a way to bypass the cam phasers and all the trouble they cause. I need info on that, a link to the correct kit, etc. only the truck is a 2010 F250 super duty gas5.7( I think... I’m a woman so forgive me).
