and food for thought...
my dad's 00 sierra ext cab shortbed 4x4 with a 4.8L(rated 275hp) auto with tow package. rearend is most likely a 3.73 but dont know for sure. well maintained and only has about 65k in the video i think. i took the video about 3 or 4 years ago and it only has about 85k now but they bought it with about 60k in 2004. it is BONE STOCK.

Man, not tryin to knock on the v6, but that thing falls on its face at 60. The 04 worse than the 08 but not by much. That would drive me nuts. Sounds good though.

I know you cant compare it to a 5.4L but... mine is a 4x4 SC on some 7 ply 33's and stock 3.73's and it pulls very hard from 60-100. Almost as hard if not harder than 20-60. But then again Ill see 70-75 before mine hits 3rd gear.

thanks bud. yeah the 04 had 3.08 rear and the 08 has 3.55LS. 08 would definitely smoke my 04 to 60 IF i didnt have to shift into 3rd before 60. that added shift time adds about 1 second to the 0-60. so IF i didnt have to shift to 3rd before 60, i COULD have probably seen a 0-60 of about 8 seconds. that vid of my 08 i clocked with a stopwatch and got 9.58 seconds but i can do it quicker without having a camera blocking my gauges. i would guess 9.0-9.2 area. its just hard to get it right on with a camera blocking the view of my gauges. the 04 i dont think i ever got it to go much faster than i got on the videos except the clutch worked a lot better. dont know why it screwed up on the one video. it never did it before or after the video. at the moment i thought i was spinning tire until i went back and didnt see any marks i have a video on youtube of my 04 when it was completely stock at around 24k, it was VERY slow. and i took it while going down an on-ramp to the interstate. the videos with the CAI were soo much better.

You would not be in the mid to low 8's if you didnt have to shift 3 times to 60. Really its just a V6, it an'it going to want to go no where to fast.

yeah its a V6 but i lose .5-1 second with the added shift. i will admit that 8 seconds seems a little far-fetched but 8.5 is realistic. but now since i live in colorado at 6800ft above sea level, im definitely not going anywhere fast. colorado sucks for driving

My thoughts.

Im lighter, have 30hp/40tr more than him from factory, then have more mods that actually do stuff and he is basically saying he will keep up with my. My average 0-60 is 8.09 seconds.

You made 25+ HP, at the wheels, with a Diablo tuner???...

Custom tunes? Anything else done to the truck for the tune?
