Recent fuel pump replacement

I replaced my fuel pump in august and the ses light came on in about october. Today my local aamco said the code read system running to lean code P0171 could the fuel pump being replaced without them replacing the fuel filter be a cause of this. There are no drivability issues with the truck

Not likely. That code is usually caused by a vacuum leak. However, you should replace the fuel filter on general principles - it needs to be changed at least every 30k.
