I agree that the 4.2 does sound like crap with an after market exhaust, but I certainly wouldn't come in here pounding on your 5.0 chest. Run along now.

 

i beg to differ. my 4.2 with dynomax bullet doesnt sound like crap. yes its not as loud and deep as a v8 but by no means does it sound bad.

That's cool, to each his own. I've never heard one that sounds good when accelerating hard or at WOT, though. I think it sounds too ricey in the higher RPM's. I do think some sound decent when idle or gradually accelerating. And yes, I'd like to hear yours on a link as well. I've thought about aftermarket exhaust and with mine being stock OEM, 7 plus years old, eventually I will have to replace mine but I would probably put stock back on.

 

I don't have any videos now but I'll try and get some soon. It will back fire alittle bit if I rev in nuetral real high or sometimes when shifting hard but that doesn't happen often enough to bother me. I'll take some and post them soon. If only I wasn't in class and the truck was in the shop now

i wasnt pounding on my chest at all, i was making a point, i know that a 4.2 couldnt outpull my 5.0, i dont use a truck for racing, i use it to carry crap, and my 5.0 will do a better job of that than a 4.2

 

Who said anything about racing? Not me. You're the one that came in here saying the 4.2L is "gay" and your 5.0 is so superior. Nope, it really isn't... it has what like 5 more HP? Ooooo!!!!!

At the end of the day, their still both Ford trucks, just ticks me off when I see lil punks like you making ridiculous comments like that.
