Change the crankshaft pulley 4.2 v6

can anyone tell me if the crankshaft pulley will come off just by removing the four bolts

Thats it, depending on what year truck this is. 99+ there will be the harmonic balancer (I think) that will have to come off as well, 97-98 just has the crank pulley,but better make sure you've got a good breaker bar and at least 1 friend to help you cuz those puppies are on there super tight. You'll either have to take the fan off to give more room or you can leave it on but you will need something to jam in the pulleys to stop them from rotating while you are trying to loosen the bolts.

When I did mine it took two of us on the breaker bar to get them loose. We even broke a socket extension with the impact gun trying to get them off.

thanx for the help i have a 98 xlt bolt broke off in pulley going to replace the pulley

Why not put an underdrive pulley on there instead. you'll get a bit more power and slightly better mpg.
