Arrow MAF sensor

ok so my truck has been running very weird lately. It's almost been shutting off at idle and breathing very hard and has been having a rough shift. I have a K&N and exhaust. No tune or anything. I'm thinking it's the MAF. Any other suggestions to what it might be?

Unplug the MAF and see if it runs better albeit with a MIL.

You can always try to clean the maf with electronic cleaner, the k&n filters are pre oiled and some times gets on the maf sensors. Worth a shot.

That's what I did. But I'm trading in my truck tomorrow. So I'm not worried about it anymore

Im worried for you, buddy. I have the exact same truck as you, execept mine is the 04. Did you have this problem before you installed the K&N filter? Did you buy the vehicle new?

It was on there when I bought the truck. It's just the MAF being clogged and dirty so it's not regulating air flow like it should be

Unplug it, take out 2 screws. Pull it out. Do not touch the filiment but spray it well with the above mentioned cleaner. Let it air dry and reinstall. Five minutes or so.

I'm sorry, I'm only familiar with the 5.4 3v engine. If you have the 4.2, you might try posting the question in the V6 engine forum. The principle is the same, I just don't know where it would be located exactly. I know it will be on the side of the intake and have a wiring harness running to it.

I don't pay much attention to the forums, I look at threads. Sorry about that. Hopefully someone will see this then and tell you exactly where it is on your engine.
