Just got done repacking the bearings. The truck rides so smooth now! In between shifts, the truck used to slow down 2-3 mph but now it keeps coasting and the momentum actually keeps it going. Shifts are A LOT smoother and in neutral it seems to coast forever. I just got back from AutoZone and trying to figure out how to use this blamed tool to remove the fuel filter.

On the ride home, my instantaneous was showing between 19-24 mpg. Way better, although during the repacking, my dad got to experience the sluggishness the brakes were causing. So we will be replacing the calipers and machining the rotors plus a front end alignment and later on some KYB GR-2 shocks and then my whole 11 year old suspension will be overhauled. I just filled up, so I'll let you guys know how its going.

Sounds like it's time for a lift kit!

Good to hear. That's one thing I love about the older trucks -- easy to fix. Especially with the 4.2l v6 5 speed combo.

I dunno about the new ones, but mine seems to be solid so far, besides the little head gasket fiasco, but that wasn't really the truck's fault or my fault, it was just a bad gasket.

Those KYB gas shocks are very good. I got a set on my Dakota, and I love the ride they give.

Might actually get them for my F150 this summer.
