Depends on the drivers- I had a 199 F150 I6 & 5 speed with the handling pkg (shortbed)- My neighbor had the same year/model of Chev but with the 305 V8 (gutless pig IMHO), I blew his doors off- by 1 full fender up to 70 mph

Just go on & race him. Then we'll all know.

Do it for pink slips.

Race him in front of that fire station that you volunteer at. That'll show the Batallion Chief just how fast your truck is, and he'll be sure to authorize you to put the lights & siren in your truck.

Make sure that you video tape it. You made such an awesome racing video the last time. And who could forget that classic PA install? Besides, I want to see the look on your Battalion Chief's face. Maybe he'll even let you paint your truck a fire engine red and add the department coat of arms to your doors.

But your truck should win. The 300s aren't a fast motor. Hook up the same trailer to both trucks, and the 300 will walk all over you though.
lol! X2.

i have a 2003 f-150 xl, 4.2L V6, 5-speed manual, posi-trac rear end.
it is nice on the 1/4 easily getting over 80-100 with out getting over 3500 rpm.
i know a guy with a 300-6 and the tranny will make the race.
i drove a 2002 f-150 with a 4.2L and an automatic tranny, when you mashed the gas
the truck delayed and then kinda stalled when it shifted so the 5-speed is a huge advantage.

good luck

PS: go ahead have fun just don't get caught

Only if you know how to drive a stick properly. If you think shifting at 4000 rpm is driving it properly, you are gonna get beat.
