Question Supercharger???

I have a supercharger off of 3.8 (same block as 4.2) and was thinking of putting it on my truck (a 4.2). It is an m90 was wondering if anyone else has done this? How much of a hassle was it? can i get by with out beefing up internals? Any thoughts???????

I'm not sure about an M90, the uppers are different. if you want to run stock internals, i wouldnt go past 9 psi of boost. ya know it takes power to make power, so if you are looking for maximum output, a turbo would be more suited for a V6.

well as far as i know the intake manifolds need to come off the 3.8 and be put on your 4.2 to make it work.

Theres a guy that did put a M90 on a 4.2 over at v6F150.com

I had been thinking of putting a Cobra M112 on my truck. But i doubt ill go that route now. SuperSixMotorsports makes an Adapter for the M112 to fit the 4.2.

Id honestly stay around 8 PSI of boost too keep it safe on stock components. If you plan on building the motor then go with something bigger like a M112 or turbo.

Check out these sites do a search before you post:
1. SuperSixMotorsports.com
2. v6power.net
3. v6f150.com

all these have some good info.

Thats a POS i dealt with those guys for months, they all have different stories.

I wanted to stop by their shop and look at stuff they wouldnt allow it.

I asked if the price includes a dyno tune they said no tuning is needed WTF.

Its a good centi supercharger but the bracketry is crap and the price is rediculous.

Hmm... really? I didn't know that...

Yup and tuning IS needed for any type of F/I setup... sounds like that shop doesn't know anything...

Yeah ive heard that kit from need-4-speed is complete junk.... Do you know how guy on v6f150 adapted manifold... further searching has come up empty on a manifold that will work with these heads to an M90. SSM and ?? somebody else has adapter for M112 but dont want to add that much power plus I already have the M90 for free. oh yeah back to question do you think M112 adaptor could be adapted to work with M90??????? i dunno just brainstorming

you could have a piece of billet made for the M90 adapter. But its goona cost a crap load and be a big project.

The SSM adapter will not work with a M90. Theres no other company making adapters for these engines or superchargers.

There was one that was making a test trial for the M112 but not sure who that was.

Check out this site, this guy knows his chit when it comes to 3.8/4.2 motors. Look at the 2nd item and 4th item. Last I heard when I spoke to him in Aug they were still working on costs for the adapter plate.
