Give Mike Troyer a call. He loves talking to people. I just got off the phone with him. He spoke with me for about 20 minutes and all I wanted to know was which way to turn the controller.

Troyer Performance Dual 16" Electric Fan Kit for 2004 & up Ford F-150, other F-series & Expedition
PPI-EFK1604

The Electric Fan turn-on temperatures can be set anywhere from as low as 160 degrees to as high as 240 degrees, allowing you to run a different temperature thermostat if you want, and the fans will turn off automatically once the temperature has dropped sufficiently.

Power gains from this kit run anywhere from a low of 12 RWHP to as much as 19 RWHP at the rear wheels, and throttle response is improved *everywhere* - at any speed, throttle position or rpm, thanks to completely eliminating the parasitic loss from the heavy factory mechanical fan & clutch assembly. And since the engine is no longer having to turn that heavy mass of the factory mechanical fan, there are usually some nice mpg improvements as well - a "win-win" type of modification! MPG gain reports range anywhere from a low of about 1.0 mpg to as much as 2.5 more mpg in the 2004 & up F-150 5.4 3V vehicles (your results will vary based on how the vehicle is operated & maintained, the terrain, fuel quality, etc.).

This system provides a whopping 5500+ CFM's (roughly double what is required for the new F-150's), enough to support the cooling needs of a 750+ HP supercharged engine in the hottest desert temperatures! This system has been thoroughly tested in numerous climate extremes and conditions, including testing in temperatures ranging from 30 degrees below zero (not including the wind chill!) all the way up to a blistering 117 degrees, and works like a champ in any weather.

They replace the mechanical fan that's attached to the engine, thus freeing up the HP that the motor used to turn the fan.

Efans can be put together for 1/2 the price Troy charges. My kit cost $150, but paid about $175 because I was impatient and bought a controller and wiring since it didn't get shipped like it was supposed to.

i have high flow cats and a glasspack on mine with a custom setup designed by my good friend that does exhaust its good for backpressure

i would say i gained a few more ponys

especially low end

but a programmer will give you more power than headers
